Kelly’s Beach – Port Alfred
A Blue Flag beach and one of Port Alfred’s most popular swimming spots. Kelly’s Beach offers safe swimming conditions, tidal pools, picnic areas, and easy access to nearby cafés and accommodation. Ideal for families, sunbathers, and casual surfers.
East Beach – Port Alfred
Located near the town centre and Kowie River mouth, East Beach is a vibrant beach ideal for long walks, fishing and water sports. Its close proximity to shops, restaurants and holiday apartments makes it a convenient choice for visitors.
West Beach – Port Alfred
A quieter, more rugged beach popular with surfers, anglers, and nature lovers. West Beach is known for its scenic coastline, dune systems and uninterrupted ocean views. Best suited for beach walks, photography, and fishing rather than swimming. It is not a beach for swim swimming due to strong currents.

Bathurst (15 km from Port Alfred)
