• The Forest & Canopy Routes (3 km to 6 km): These lower-altitude trails wind beneath a cool canopy of indigenous trees, making them perfect for hot summer days. The terrain can be rocky and damp underfoot, so sturdy footwear is highly recommended.

• The Ridge & Horseshoe Bend Trail (Up to 9 km): A more strenuous hike that rewards adventurers with steep uphill climbs to the ultimate crest. Reaching the main viewpoint gives you a front-row seat to the dramatic Horseshoe Bend river loop below.

• The Kowie River Canoe Trail Connection: For an multi-adventure experience, many visitors choose to canoe 21 km upstream from Port Alfred directly into the heart of the reserve, using the riverbanks as their hiking basecamp.
